The forked tongue Congress and the national shame

Batla House encounter is real says P.Chidambaram.Batla House encounter faked claims Digvijaya Singh. Now both belong to the Congress. The UPA government is the Congress government for all purpose. And the Home Minister asserts that Batla House encounter was real. But a Congress party secretary claims that it is faked. Whom are we to believe? Does the Congress think that they can take the UP voters for a ride? Or does the Congress think that it can say yes and no at the same breathe- and get away with it? Does the Congress think that confusing the people it stands to gain? Whom do we believe the Home Minister or the Congress secretary?

What is the underlying reason for this dichotomy? Why this double talk. Take what suits you but let us have the Muslim votes. The Congress party when it wants tries to distance itself from the Government but Mrs Sonia Gandhi holds the remote control. Why this petty vested interest even at the cost of the national security? Cutting the branch on which the Congress sits will not help it. It looks that the Congress will stoop to any level to gain the Muslim votes. But it forgets that the Muslim voter is no fool-he can be fooled for some time by but some but not all the time by all.

Where does Rahul Gandhi stand in this-with the government or with his party? Stoic silence-is not the answer and cannot be a leadership attribute. Digvijaya made his claim in the presence of RG. Does he endorse his views? What is ridiculous in a way but very troubling is the fact that Chidambaram states that right from the beginning this was the view of Digvijaya Singh that the Batla encounter was faked and he respected his view. What should one make out of this? That the Home Minister respected the view of Digvijaya Singh that the Batla encounter was faked? And yet to be told that the encounter was genuine. Is this not childish and double speak? If P.Chidambaram and the Prime Minister holds that the Batla encounter was genuine but Digvijaya Singh holds the view (along with Rahul Gandhi) that it was a faked encounter then either the PM and the HM are lying or Digvijaya Singh is lying. All three cannot be right. Which ever side is lying ultimately it is the Congress which is lying.

Just for vote bank politics and to appease the Muslims Digvijaya wants to absolve the two Indian Mujahideen terrorists who were killed while two IM terrorists were arrested and another fled.If the Batla encounter is faked then the IM must be absolved and the two arrested freed.May be they have already been freed. And we have to believe that Police Inspector Mohan Chandra Sharma laid down his life for a faked encounter. What a sham story Digvijaya wants to reel out.All this towards garnering Muslim votes. So the national security-the lives that are lost by the terrorism of the IM needs to be wiped out and a new chapter must be written under the authorship of Digvijaya Singh-supervised and approved by Rahul Gandhi. These are the men whom the nation should trust. Can we really trust them?

Apart from the Batla encounter which puts the PM in a bad light-to lie or not to lie we have him recently comment on the under nutrition of children The reports reveals that 49 percent of Indian’s children are under nourished. This PM states that is a national shame. Any analysis will prove that the Congress is the national shame for bringing in about this disastrous situation. Calling itself the oldest national party of 125 years and having been in power the longest period to put forth this report in 2011 and call it a national shame is a shame on the PM. There is more to come

Indian bureaucracy has been rated worst in Asia with a 9.21 rating out of 10 is a greater shame. Should we come even worse than Vietnam and Indonesia with a rating of 8.54 and 8.37 respectively? Is this not a national shame? If one has to reckon with the deeply engrained corruption in the political scenario one understands why this national shame. Yet it was a civil society which had to awaken the conscience of the government and an Opposition which had to urge it to enacting a strong Lok Pal. But this failed because corruption is the warp and weft of the Indian political fabric. It is not easy to divest the fabric of corruption unless we divest the politicians of their roles. But then everyone swears in democracy. Do we have one?

It is relevant and necessary to analyze the kind of democracy we have. It is called democracy because Parliament is supreme it is said .But still we accept the fact that 60 percent of the Parliamentarians have criminal records and 60 percent are crorepathis. We are told that they represent the people…Can there be a greater irony?
So this fork tongued Congress –with its PM and Home Minister as Congress leaders with a General Secretary of the Congress talking at tangent-we have the PM citing the 49 percent of children below nutrition level as a national shame-but silent on having the most corrupt bureaucracy in Asia It is this most corrupt bureaucracy which runs the government with leaders at the top who pull in different directions. We proudly proclaim this as democracy. Yet we witnessed the Parliamentarians who transacted business with bags of currency within Parliament-we had long ago Buta Singh who purchased votes with a suitcase of cash. Oh I am sorry, one cannot and should not speak disparagingly of Parliament because it is sanctimonious and its sanctity can be defiled in any manner on the floor of the Parliament by the MPs only but which cannot be questioned. This is democracy-rule of a few for the few in the name of the people. I call this a banana Republic in the name of democracy exploiting the Indian masses

In Defense of Anna and his team
The media is abuzz of late regarding Anna and his team. Did Anna make a ‘U’ turn-?He is being misled, he wanted to change the structure of the core team ,how democratic is the Anna team, what about the donations and the nameless donors etc etc. These and more have been debated and questioned and clarified and scrutinized by both the print and the electronic media. There is always Digvijaya Singh to add spice to the whole thing and now the latest is the Maharastra CM-Chavan who says that Anna is being edged into becoming political. Apart from these there is the question of harassment. Let is starting with the economy class and the Business class travel of Kiran Bedi, the IT notice to Kejriwal and the phone tapping-apart from the ‘U’turn of Anna-the political ambitions of the Anna team and the falling back of the Congress of parliamentary traditions to justify the ‘soon’ time limit for passing the Lokpal bill. These clearly go to show that the Congress is jittery and wants to harass the opponents.

Let’s look at these objectively. The main focus must be the issue that Anna team is focused on. Its members do not matter so much because no one is perfect. Kiran Bedi case it is like comparing a small pickpocket misconduct with the white collared crime of looting and fleecing the country. One must make a distinction between graft and these misconducts-bringing an enormous loss to the nation, misleading the people and betraying the trust that the ministers and MPs took on their oaths solemnly promising to act without fear or favor. Where has that oath gone and is that not a total betrayal of the people?

Regarding the IT notice to Kejriwal it is like going after a needle in a haystack. The lakhs of crores of rupees which Hasan Ali Khan has to submit as tax, the black money stashed in tax havens which for years and years are just hanging in the air while Kejriwal was given an income tax notice for the 9 lakhs that he is alleged to pay as tax. Is there no proportion and rationale behind these .What is the comparison? It gives Digvijaya Singh some ammunition to start a smear campaign.

How democratic is the Anna team. One fails to understand the legitimacy of the Congress spokespersons to raise this; because that party has no internal democracy and neither does it believe in democracy. How was Rahul Gandhi made the General Secretary-for that matter Digvijaya Singh. Is democracy even as a concept accepted by the Congress? Then it will not have the National Advisory committee. Who appointed the NAC and how democratically its members are elected? Mind you, the NAC is being paid by the tax payer. Who sanctioned this budget? Did Parliament go into the NAC’s budget and sanction it-for that matter even the very structure has no Constitutional sanction and legitimacy. What right has the NAC to advise the PM.? How can it usurp the role of the cabinet and made the latter superfluous. All this means money. The people have a right to know the total expenditure of the NAC. And this is the Congress that rakes up donations and nameless donors. Has the Congress any moral right to do so. Let it first set its house in order before it talks of democracy and donations and donors.

To come to Anna’s ‘U-turn-where is the ‘U’ turn he made and if he made he is justified in it because as issues rise and as smear campaign gains momentum he needs to change his stance. He is not under any oath and there is no hidden agenda. Even if he had one he cannot be blamed. As to his becoming political and the team having political ambitions is no sin- Anna cannot fight the corruption without fighting the Congress –because both are synonymous. To fight corruption will automatically lead to fighting the Congress. And to fight the Congress will mean giving an advantage to the next biggest national party-namely the BJP. Not that it is without corruption. The lesser evil must be chosen. So what is strange in this? To be political is not a sin. Do Chavan-the CM of Maharastra and the Congress leaders think that to be political is their exclusive right? The Congress thinks it has the mandate to two things-one corruption-it is its birth right and the second is dynasty rule-the divine right to rule

The sparing between the Anna team and the Congress on phone tapping one must realize that the Congress is past masters in this hitting below the belt technique. Even in the days of Ramakrishnan Hegde phone tapping was resorted to by the Opposition Congress under SM Krishnan. It is the usual strategy of the Congress.

The latest utterance made by Abhishek Manu Singhvi that the parliamentary committee examining the Lokpal bill will complete its work ‘soon’. He added that giving a fixed timeline would be against parliamentary traditions is laughable. The Congress which has violated every parliamentary norm and tradition and institution is now falling back on that to justify a no time limit fixing. Is it not ridiculous? One has waited too long and it is prudent for the congress to give a time limit because the ‘soon’ can be timeless and then it will be late because nemesis will over take the Congress by then.
It is amply clear that the Congress will not fight corruption on the other hand will try its best to defend it because it is sitting on the tree’s branch named corruption and naturally will not want to axe that branch.

Open Letter to Rahul Gandhi

You must be getting a lot of feed back of your strutting across India, of your utterances and non utterances and I hope these are uncensored by your sycophants and coterie that surround you and your mother. If uncensored then you will get a correct assessment of what Indians think of you and your ambition to become the Prime Minister. After all we are a rich poor country –a rural urban one and though you like to fool the people by saying that you belong to the poor India, they are not zombies to take that at face value. You may peep into a dalit house-you may share a couple of rotis with a dalit man-you may hop on to a motor bike and be given a ride by a criminal but you and all these gimmicks cannot change to a fairly large extend the impression one gets from your inability to connect to the nation. You are trying no doubt, and in the process making yourself a laughing stock. Unlike your grandmother and great grand father you cannot connect to India and her people- except that you come from the Nehru Gandhi family and that is not enough for the nation to accept you as a PM. But what is shocking is the fact that you can even think of such a possibility because it is a disaster

With this preamble let me context it to the ‘Globalization excludes as much as it includes’ (21st Indian Express)would not blame you for the ideas therein because on your own you are incapable of even essaying that. You and your mother are both apt draft readers. But since for record sake you are given as the author let me clarify on it.
You are talking of processes-urbanization, globalization and you missed Industrialization though that’s the main gel that is significant in the example you gave namely: of the cart and the car. You must realize that thanks to the British India was kept out of industrialization process and prodded to jump into urbanization. This suited the British’s policy. Had we gone into the sequential stage wise growth then industrialization of the country would not have spread pauperization of the rural. And there would not have been this wide spread of slums. The rural areas were overlooked even in basics and the small towns that the ‘sahibs ‘resided saw a proliferation of slums-the unskilled labor. The poverty stricken rural folks who had to migrate to the towns to become cheap labor-head load workers for cotton and jute bales. It is this jump from rural to urban missing the industrialization that enabled you to give the example of a cart and car. We have the latest cars on your road speeding fast and we have the bullock carts jogging along. Why this scenario

Worse still was the policy of an English education system because the ‘sahibs’ had to understand the local employees. While the other countries were industrialized with our raw materials we remained where we were-rural vastly. But time ticked and the nation was sucked into the vortex of urbanization. The government mostly of your Party quickened the process by putting in facilities in urban centers.
Globalization is facilitated by communication technology. To repeat your examples-Why is it that the rubber from our country is not processed in India and had to go to Germany? Why the metal mined in Bellary need to go to Japan to be processed and shipped by Korea. So you see how our political culture was such that they kept the country under developed as far as technology was concerned but entered into pacts with the foreign countries of course with kickback to process our raw materials.

You still think that you belong to ‘poor India’ but you and your mother jet across. Our hospitals are not good enough for the family, our transport system not powered enough so jets from the Arab world and from the filthy rich of the ‘globalized is alone good for you. You think Indians are at your disposal. You fail to realize that the policy followed by the Congress-the party of yours and you are one of its General Secretaries is the root cause of this great divide-of having carts and latest model cars on the road side by side. Co-existence I suppose.
So in this process it is natural that the voiceless, asset less and powerless are left behind. But then it gives you ample space for sermonizing to them of the ‘green pastures’ that await the poor and the humble. And typical of you that’s how you have signed off ‘Globalization excludes as much as it includes’ by bringing in compassion. Of course you have mentioned a sentence on justice and rights but that should have been the main central theme. This patronizing attitude is killing and reveals a mindset that is not upholding justice and rights. The people of this country have been in the process of globalization denied justice and rights. It is not the Food security of the National Advisory Council that we need. It is not the compassion that we are lacking. Indian hoary past is seeped in compassion and patience and that’s one of the reasons why people like you can utter nonsense and fool the people. We want our rights-we want justice and towards this be it the cart and the car examples we will not any more tolerate the sermon being thrust down on us. What is good for those who are excluded should be good for you and your mother/So do not run away and holiday and celebrate b’days in UK but eat two rotis in a dalit house and sermonize of the ‘excluded’ in the process of globalization to prove that you belong to the ‘poor India’. This is adding insult to injury. Have you and your party any idea of the concept of Justice? If so then why in the same news paper we had the article on ‘Government goes extra kilometer for Congress in UP’ Rural basic facility of road the majority needs to be in Congress constituencies.

How different are you from the invaders and the British who squeezed the rural poor. Your constituency of Amethi has been sanctioned 25 projects in contrast to just one project sanctioned for Pilibit represented by Varun Gandhi-a 75 lakh Rs for 1.8 km of rural road. Are the poor and the powerless in Pilibit different from those in Amethi? Did you peep into a dalit house in Pilibit? This basic discrimination right from our planned development period cannot see Justice as part of globalization and Industrialization. The cart will always be there along with the speeding latest cars because we have people like you-nay we have a Congress party seeped in vested interest and greed. A party which abets scams one per day at least. And you talk of ‘compassion’ Can you have compassion without Justice and can you empower people without pauperizing them? Yes change challenges –only if Justice is at the core of your perception. Rights of others are as important as your own-There is no two opinion of that but your party and you believe only in words-hollow they sound and now these infuriated the people because they see it as a foolery game.(Tell Digvijaya Singh to be silent for some time he is causing more harm than good for the party). For this to be realistic you must be able to realize what it is to be asset less and powerless. Do not sit in an ivory tower and talk of compassion like the priest who sermonizes to the hungry congregation Sunday after Sunday and reminds them that the hungry will have their fill in the next world while he then goes back and consumes a sumptuous breakfast.

Prevention of Communal and Targeted Violence Bill-2011 as proposed by the NAC

I belong to a minority community and the reading of the so called Prevention of communal and targeted violence bill was shocking to say the least. I have touched only on one aspect-namely the ‘Group’ and ‘the others’ The proposed Prevention of Communal and Targeted Violence Bill 2011 seems to be drafted by Nazi mentality persons who are hell bend on communalizing the nation and ultimately destroying this country. It is just not senseless but drafted with malice intention and purport. The very terminology is misleading because this is no Prevention of communalism but arousing and abetting communalism. Again why the term ‘Targeted Violence’? It should have been simply violence. It starts thus with assumptions and presumptions that violence is targeted which means violence is directed against specific targets (read here Muslims) this assumes that the perpetrators are non Muslims. It is flawed right from the caption and the minds that sat down to scribble-not draft this Bill had preconceived notions and a hidden agenda which found its expression in the so called bill.

First I would like to question the authority of the NAC to draft such a bill. Why an extra constitutional body should be engaged in this task. Do we not have ministers-the cabinet and government advisors to the Prime Minister-Group of empowered ministers to take up the task. All these are paid by the common people’s tax money and apart from these a super body with handpicked anti-Modi, anti Hindu persons to form the NAC with an Italian heading it to abet the disintegration of this nation. This cannot go and it will be relevant if Baba Ramdev and Anna team joins together to throw this bill into the dustbin of history. This is their obligatory duty because corruption is one but the survival of the country as a nation comes first. This so called bill cannot go even if redrafted because from A to Z it is flawed. It is seditious and treason.

A blatant and arbitrary division of the Indian people into ‘group’ and ‘others’ is made by the drafters of the Bill, which reveals the mal-intent. It goes beyond mere appeasement of the Muslims but aims at disintegration of the country. The drafters have given the Muslims and the religious Minorities a free run of violence including rape which is a crime but they have the license to commit these and go scot free. The same criminality and violence committed by a Hindu calls for stringent punishment but if committed by the Muslims escape the law (this is worse than the jungle law). This because the Muslims and the Minorities are the ‘group’ and the Hindus are ‘the others’ ungrouped. The people thus are grouped into two-the victims-which is ‘the group’ and the perpetrators which are ‘the others.’ No country in the world except the Nazis had this mind set when it came to the Jews. No civilized country would accept such blatant miscarriage of law and justice. The Congress had right from the beginning been sowing divisive politics in the country- on the basis of region, religion, caste and language. Now it is emboldened to reveal its devilry. Just two camps of people in the country-the victims and the perpetrators. So even before the violence the NAC has envisaged violence and that is directed against the Muslims and Minorities. Indian history does not vouch to this assumption. The drafters of the Bill presume that riots and violence are perpetrated by ‘the others’ (read Hindus)This is not true and not the reality. ‘According to Ms Zenab Banu’s ‘Politics of communalism: a politico-historical analysis of communal riots in post independence India with special reference to the Gujarat and Rajasthan riots” (1989), there have been 74 communal riots between 1953 and 1977 of which 75 percent were instigated by Muslims’ Even today 98 percent of terrorism cross borderand /or Indian born is planned, instigated and perpetrated by Muslims.Only Islam has the Jihad and hence Jehadis. Yet PC could coolly make a reference to ‘saffron’ terror. This clearly indicates the mindset of the Congress.

The Communal Violence Bill is based on hate philosophy but even in this it is skewed. There have been riots in which Hindus were victims and Indian history stands testimony to the atrocities against Hindus, by the Muslim invaders-the destruction of temples and the desecration of Hindu gods and goddesses. In recent time the fate of the Kashmiri pundits will vouch for this. The Hindus have been massacred, their homes have been burned and they have been driven out of the Valley. Till date no justice has been done. Is this because they belong to the ‘others’?

Violence is violence and criminality is criminality it cannot change because of the victim and the perpetrator. These must to be snuffed out and the same penal code must address these crimes. The same laws must be applicable to the citizens of India. This is their Right. The proposed Bill violates the Constitution with immunity not only on Federalism but on Fundamental Rights. How can a Parliament even look at it and waste its time. I shudder to think that the NAC have people sitting in it with such a mindset. And are to pay for them by out tax money? To make this feasible the NAC is proposing to bring out two penal codes-one for the Hindus and the other for the religious minorities. It would be better then to say that the religious minorities do not come under any penal code-they can run amuck commit crimes and indulge in violence .They will not be apprehended. If a nation divides its people on the basis of two sets of penal code; next it will seek two flags for the country-one for the group and the other for the Hindus. So a nation quietly and ingeniously divided into two. Do we need geographical partition? And in this divide which flag will the NAC hold? What about the national anthem? Which flag will be unfurled on the Independence Day? It is simply beyond my comprehension that the NAC could draft such an atrocious bill aimed at dividing the nation and get away with it. They must be charged for treason.

Let us hypothetically envisage that this Prevention of Communal and Targeted Violence Bill is passed and becomes a Bill. Then posthumously Rajiv Gandhi must be tried and sentenced. The Congress leaders-Jagdish Tytler ,Sajjan Kumar must be put on trial-the Congress government which was in power at the Centre with all those officers then in service must be tried and punished because they failed to prevent the butchering of the Sikhs, the arson and the rapes The Congress party must be banned. The history of this country does not start with the NAC and end with NAC. One should have a sense of history and thus the same Bill drafted by the NAC will be first directed against the Congress party headed by Mrs Sonia Gandhi. It will end the NAC and will throw the Congress party out of the relevance of Indian history. What you sow you reap.

Dear Media Friends,

Vanakkam.

This is a wonderful article of Ram Jethmalini about Chidamparam and his frauds, All about his resignation from Narashimaharao govenment, his VDIS 1997, his tapping of current finance ministry…

A must know for every Media person. Plz read, if convinced circulate it to as many people as you can.

Thanks a lot.

Regards
Rama. Nambi Narayanan

Friend, father & philosopher of black money is Chidambaram
By Ram Jethmalani, The Sunday Guardian,
August 3, 2011

Palaniappan Chidambaram, whom I shall for the sake of brevity call just Chidambaram, is best seen through black and white. And please don’t get me wrong and accuse me of racism. I refer not to epidermis or mane, but to the economic colour of money. Some of his greatest contributions to the economy of India are his brilliant pioneering initiatives for changing the colour of money from black to white. And this passion has never left him.

Many of us have forgotten the Voluntary Disclosure of Income Scheme (VDIS) 1997, which he announced when he was Finance Minister with the United Front government, granting income-tax defaulters indefinite immunity from prosecution under the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, 1973, Income Tax Act, 1961, Wealth Tax Act, 1957, and Companies Act, 1956, in exchange of self-valuation and disclosure of income and assets.

The scheme was brilliantly conceived. While all schemes in the past valued declared assets at current prices, VDIS 1997 brought in an arbitrary date of 1 April 1987. Gold and silver hoarders, and large property holders got an exceptional bonanza on this valuation system. Further, proof of purchase was not insisted upon, which gave complete freedom to the confessors to fudge any date they wanted to their own financial advantage and further plunder of the country.

So, even if gold was bought after 1987, it could be shown as having been bought before 1987, and it was a win-win game for all stakeholders to rake in the cuts. The Comptroller and Auditor General of India condemned the scheme in his report as abusive and a fraud on the genuine taxpayers of the country. But the issue was forgotten, and the illustrious career of Palaniappan Chidambaram rose to greater heights in the UPA regime.

Those were his innocent days. What a long way he has come since the era when he was cooking up VDISs, so utterly transparent, that the loopholes and avenues to give relief to the looters stared you in the face. The world economy was also then a little simpler than it is today, and his best achievement was getting caught about his investments in Fairgrowth, which was involved in the Securities Scam of 1992.

Chidambaram had to resign for this utterly transparent investment in a company whose scam would have paid rich dividends. Unfortunately, he was not Finance Minister at the time and did not have the machinery to hush things up, and could only remotely control the markets, unlike his present capabilities as former Finance Minister and thereafter.
Being Finance Minister in the UPA government was his finest hour. He could fiddle around with share markets, capital markets, banks, financial instruments, such as, securities, participatory notes, tax treaties, not to speak of spectrum sale, and use his extraordinary innovative powers of black money magic to plunder our country with complete impunity.
He assiduously cultivated the media with his clipped English accent (that led him down, now and then), occasional freebies, and sustained shadows of the Enforcement Directorate that he commanded.

Chidambaram cannot get black money out of his blood. Dr Subramanian Swamy has clearly stated in his website, “I now have further information from my usually reliable sources in the Union Government that the tapping of Finance Minister Mr. Pranab Mukherjee and his close associate in the Ministry, enabled Mr. Robert Vadra the son-in-law of Ms. Sonia Gandhi and Mr. Karthik, son of Mr. P. Chidambaram, to use the data thereby collected to manipulate and rig the Mumbai stock market. Earlier these data were directly provided by the then Finance Minister Mr. Chidambaram. I demand that the SEBI be asked by PM to initiate ‘Insider Trading’ investigation and prosecution of Mr. Vadra and Mr. Karthik.”

If what is put out by Dr Subramanian Swamy is false why doesn’t Chidambaram sue him?

The dark clouds of the 2G scam and the repeated evidence being given by A. Raja and other accused of his tacit involvement and other acts of omission and commission are menacingly closing in on Chidambaram. He is losing his cool, and more importantly, losing his carefully clipped English accent to its more indigenous roots more often.

And like his colleague Digvijay Singh, his mind seems to be disintegrating to a stage where he has started talking gibberish. Take this, for example: in reply to the BJP demand for his resignation for his involvement in the 2G scam, Chidambaram claims that the BJP is targeting him since he initiated a probe by the NIA into Hindu terror. Can any rational person see the connection between the two?

Take also his comments regarding the recent Mumbai blasts. As Home Minister, instead of taking stock of the situation, and providing leadership, the only intelligent thing he could think of saying was, “No intelligence is not intelligence failure.” Even a college debating society expects better logic. It’s something like saying “illness is not a failure of health” or “impotence is not a failure of potency”.

Chidambaram’s special financial skills have diversified into electoral politics also. He has the distinction of having been declared defeated in the last Lok Sabha election, after which he galvanized his special skills and local machinery, in particular, a data entry operator, and doctored a marginal victory on the recount. That is quite a record for fraud. And can one forget how the Indian Bank was cleaned up and left with only non-performing assets thanks to him and his Tamil Maanila buddies?

Chidambaram’s record as Home Minister has been disastrous. Neither has he made any impact on internal security, with the worst massacres of his own paramilitary forces taking place in his time, nor on terrorism, which carries on in complete complacency because there are neither effective preventive or punitive systems in place, nor political will and national legislation to combat terrorism. It is on record and in the public domain that the Home Ministry gave incorrect names of India’s most wanted list of terrorists allegedly hiding in Pakistan, some of whom were tracked living in India or in custody. Is this a testament to his fabled efficiency and commitment?

What a laughing stock we must be before the world. It is almost as if India is determined that it shall not combat terrorism, shall not have enabling legislation as enacted by the US, such as the Homeland Security Act 2002, and the Prevention of Terrorism Act 2005 of UK and similar legislations in European governments. India is determined not to have an effective national agency on the lines of the Homeland Security Department of the US.

The ramshackle National Investigation Agency showed itself as a complete failure during the recent Mumbai attacks. Understandable, because its only mandate appears to be to investigate “Hindu terror”, the last refuge for failed and hopeless Congressmen like Chidambaram. The CCTNS, JIC, ARC, NTRO (presently in another scam), and NCTC remain effete, scattered and unmonitorable, even by the Home Ministry. With such an unequivocal determination by the UPA government not to address terrorism effectively, I can only grieve for my country.

Has the Anna team the copy right for fasting? This is what strikes one. The team has been criticizing Modi and the Sadbhavana. One would think that the team would have been happy-because every effort by every individual is needed to cleanse the polity. But Anna team is arrogant to think that only it can cleanse the system.
There seems to be a jealousy at the grand success and the sentiments Modi has been able to elucidate by his fast. After all the corruption against which Anna team is supposed to be fighting against is not all that simple and a straight line target to be attacked. If there is no peace and harmony-if communities cannot think of themselves as Indians then what is the use of fighting corruption? By criticizing Modi Anna and his team has exposed themselves of self centeredness and pettiness

Take for example Prashant Bhushan stating that if someone spends government money for political gains then it is corruption. Government has no money of its own but it is people’s money. Anna team also utilized and depended on people’s money. Was it for religious affairs? No, every move of Anna team was and is political. It sounds nonsensical for Anna team to say that we are not political-we do not belong to any political party and we do not support any political party. Then what are they? Why fight shy of being political? Why fight shy of supporting political parties. After all it is governance that the team is talking about. Can governance be outside politics?

Government’s money ultimately belongs to the people so if Modi’s fast required some spending he is not corrupt to have his own financiers and neither has he black money stashed in Italy and Switerland. So as a Chief Minister of a state his actions will call for government spending and how can that be called corruption? If Rahul Gandhi goes on mass contact program and a three layer security is thrown around him-is that not expenditure on the government and will it not fall under corruption. When Mrs Sonia went for her ‘surgery’ and after surgery lived in a service apartment whose money was spent? Will Anna team find out the total cost of the surgery and the service apartment? Lok pal is not the end all and the be all of things that are happening and yet to happen. Every where there is corruption. When the cabinet ministers go abroad for treatment it is personal and yet the people’s monies are spent. Under what do these fall? According to Bhushan it is corruption if one is to use the same yardstick that he has used for Modi.

Nobody denies that Modi is not a political person. All that he does will definitely go towards either building his image or chipping away at it. This cannot be helped because he is a political person first and last-and he is the Chief minister. What is jarring is that Anna team has demeaned itself by exhibiting pettiness and jealousy and an arrogance that it alone will solve India’s one problem namely ‘corruption .In the meantime the black money has vanished-Hasan Ali Khan’s 62 lakh crores tax has doubled with interest and the case is kept dragging along. The CBI –the subservient handmaid of the Congress is not prepared to net in P.Chidambaram the Home minister for his role in 2G spectrum. Who is voicing these concerns? Is it not part of corruption?

The people are heaving and struggling under inflation. The immediately need is to lighten their burden whether the back money comes back or not this again is left out in the Anna team’s perception. Of course it cannot tackle everything-but let it do first things first. The petrol price hike is having a cascading effect on all commodities especially cereals and vegetables and every day items which is not confined to the middle class alone. It hits the poor with greater force because their daily wages will not be able to get them a proper nutritious meal a day. Then we will have dancer Mallika Sarabhai and other activists pointing out at malnutrition and claim that Gujarat’s health record is low.

I would like to know why this Modi antagonism. The Congress has much more on its conscience, be it butchering, massacre of people, misleading the people, supporting Pakistan and abetting terrorism, high inflation it is squeezing the poor and abetting hunger and poverty et al.But it is Modi who is the target. Just one Gujarat riots and the NGOs along with the Congress want to keep it alive and not wish for peace and harmony. Is that not anti-people and ant-India. Any group and party who keeps the people divided is anti-patriotic and this is what makes the Congress a suspect in everything.

‘According to Kejriwal, ‘We don’t need more yatras .Let the parties bring in Jan Lokayukta bills in their States. The Centre may take time for various reasons. The ruling parties can set up Lokayuktas in their States’. Well said, but one cannot feel a bit diffident when he says the Centre may need time for various reasons. The Centre when it wanted to pass the Foreigners bill (for legitimizing Mrs Sonia Gandhi” as an Indian) passed it in just a matter of two weeks. When it wants to hike petrol price then it is simply passed by a Group of empowered ministers, no Parliament, no discussion and no consultation with the allies. So it can find ways and means to pass the Lok Pal in the shortest period instead of allowing it to drag on if the Government wants to. Before the Lok Pal is passed much water would flow under the bridge and the dynamism it created will be gone may be the need also will evaporate. This is exactly what the government is looking for. Every corruption /scam case is the same. What about the scams? Why not put these on fast tracks? Kejriwal seem to accept this slow mode motion. This does not auger well. He also does not want any more yatras-that is not for him to state and he has no authority for that. Yatras are one method of mass contact-let leaders have yatras if they feel like and want to. Why run that down. So are we to believe that one Anna fasting episode is enough to put the nation on the right track and to banish corruption?

According to Kejriwal if Chief Ministers have significant powers in appointing Lokayukta there will be a conflict of interest’ then how will he conduct enquires against the CM’ In this Kejriwal has a valid query. The same pertains to the PM and for that matter also the Parliamentarians. If they have the final say in drafting the LokPal how will they want it to be worded-without loopholes for their escape. How will it encompass the PM and the Parliamentarians how is Lokayukta going to enquire into them? After all it is the political class which must be under the scanner and not the poor clerk who sits at his desk. So we are waiting for the LP which we think is going to enquire into the corruption of the politicians and they are drafting it and will have to pass the bill. Jai Ho

In the meantime it would be judicious for Anna team not to fault Modi or other yatras. Each one can do what is best and available to focuss on the multifarious facets and layers of corruption-even garner votes because without a good honest party and honest upright politicians how can governance be sans corruption? Finally Anna team must remember that it is deep in politics-nothing can be outside politics as far as Indian polity is concerned. What stands out is the Modi phobia which is detrimental both to those who suffer from it and the unity of India. Peace and harmony are not slogans it is embedded in development-it is embedded in growth and in brotherhood. Every patriotic citizen must long for it, work for it and pray for it and encourage every single individual to contribute towards it in his/own way-that’s Sadbhavana mission

Modi’s fast has raised the hackles of the Opposition for reasons best know to it.A fast is a spiritual exercise-a response to an inner call-an impetus to spiritual growth-a powerful petition to the gods-a source of purification-a call to all to rise above pettiness and to look forward and upwards. ‘Sadbhavana’ of Modi had all this and more because as Chief Minister he needs also to set the tone and tenure in his State of peace and harmony. Gujarat has been praised globally and nationally for its progress. But as CM he knows that peace and harmony is the essence of development and progress and very much the need of the day in this country. So Modi did the right thing in setting the example for the nation.

Modi’s Sadbhavana had all the right ingredients-his motives were transparent and he articulated these at the start of his fast. There was not a word of anger, bitterness or hatred. But there was an underlying note of sadnessness on the falsehoods spread by others.Modi did not fail to showcase Gujarat as a model for development and wanted the State to contribute to national development. Thereby Modi did put an obligation on Gujarat to help the States to march forward. The CM was straight and transparent. He did not mince words on the ability and capability of Gujarat-on the hurdles it had faced but had come out with greater strength. One would think that the fast’s central goal was peace and harmony-that took the centre stage. It was not just in words but in the support showed by other communities especially the Muslims. Modi did state that 2002 was a tragedy .He reminded the nation and the world that the pain of those who suffered is his own. It should be because as a Chief Minister he must be one with all his subjects and one who got the mandate from the people is obliged to wipe every tear of the people in his State. On the whole, the Sadbhavana was well perceived and well planned. Those who came to witness and show their solidarity also presented a picture frame of religious unity. It was estimated that one fourth of the crowd were Muslims. On the whole Modi started his 61’s year with an spiritual input for inner growth which augers well combined with his political acumen. The idea of Sadbhavana was a response to his inner voice and he did well in his positive response to that inner voice.

Take the fast undertaken by the Congress-what was its motive. It looks that Modhawadia, Vaghela and Gohil degraded the fast as a spiritual exercise. Hen it started a counter fast at the Sabarmati Ashram. (The Congress has not moral and political right even to utter Gandhi’s name.)The Gujarat Congress created a forum to bash Modi –to hold on to the divisive culture of the Congress. Was there a word of communal harmony? Why pick at Modi when the Congress wants no harmony and peace but vote banks to be held within communal ghettos? One cannot fault Modi because it must be left to him and his conscience to do what he thought was the best. How can the Congress say that the talk of harmony did not suit Modi? How can it be so petty and talk of five star culture being used as an image building. Modi is in ‘Z’ security and as such needs all the bandobost and all that goes along with it.It seems petty, low and base because Modi does not need any image building. He stands tall among the Chief Ministers of this country and has been looked upon as a model administrator. This is God’s gift to him. The Congress’ fast looked childish, spiteful and full of jealousy. Can there be a fast on such a premise.-with such a mentality that spewed venom? Was this the inner voice of the Congress to go on a counter fast? To start one hour early and end two hours after Modi’s fast after having termed Modi’s fast a gimmick? Does it mean that the Congress wanted a longer gimmick by its own yardstick?
And Mallika Sarabhai’s eyes opened when Modi declared his Sadbhavana-she saw poor hungry children and was motivated to feed them. Thats one good result of Modi’s fast!.

The five star culture which the Congress talks of belongs to Mrs Sonia and her family. The private jets used, the grandeur in which she and her family wade through at the cost of the tax payers monies are very much the talk of the town. The black money stashed away –a result of the unholy nexus of the Congress and the looters and conmen cannot be wiped off.
The Congress would have done better if it sat on a fast for the victims of Bhopal gas-the conspiracy of the State government and the Centre government in allowing Warren Anderson to flee the country without facing justice. The Congress is guilty of a globally largest industrial disaster which left thousands maimed, crippled, diseased and dead How has it washed this guilt? The Delhi riots immediately after Indira Gandhi’s assassination in which the Congress men lead the massacre team to butcher the Sikhs –to rape the women and to burn down their dwelling is recorded history and not very long ago. How has the Congress washed this guilt? Today the Congress has the cheek to talk of Modi’s guilt when it carried such a huge load of guilt and genocide and massacre. Can any number of fasts as penance wash the guilt? Can the Congress come out of its own guilt? Never, but at least it could be humble and refrain from faulting others. No lessons it will ever learn because of its load of political and social sins

The Congress does not understand anything spiritual. It thinks that the inner voice only Mrs Sonia has one. Hence at the prompting of her inner voice she announced ‘renunciation’. And renunciation to Mrs Sonia and her coterie meant more power. So quietly she schemed and usurped sole proprietorship of power to govern India. Her unconstitutional and unethical method led to scams one after another-skeletons came tumbling down and more will come. So the Congress party can never digest anyone with a positive response to an ‘inner voice’ for peace and harmony. That’s the last the Congress wants. The Congress is digging its own grave and refuses to see the writing on the wall. The Congress lacks moral and political insights because it is warped in vested interest and one such is vote bank politics.

Modi, Media and the Congress’ myopic vision.

The Supreme Court has not indicted Modi and his government in the Gulbarg Society case-The SC refused to pass any order on Modi’s involvement in the 2002 riots. The SC has referred the case to the trial court saying that it need not monitor the case any longer and has directed the Special Investigation Team to file a final report with the magistrate court concerned, which will henceforth deal with the findings as per law. This has given a chance for Modi bashers-the Congress the Left parties and the NGOs to do what they are accustomed to do.Even though the SC has not indicted Modi and does not find his involvement in the Gulbarg case the Congress ,the Left and Teesta find Modi accused and want him convicted. The media has also lapped up their views because as far as Modi is concerned the media has always been anti-Modi.Hence it puts Modi on trial. If the TOI splashes ‘SC breather, Modi exhales’ Ram Jethmalini demolishes it by stating that ‘Narendra Modi can’t get a breather because he was never suffocated. There was never any evidence against him. It is a vindication of his innocence’. The media also whips up passions and polarizes opinions when it brings in at this juncture the idea of Modi as prospective PM candidate. Even Modi may not have given a thought to it. He is full of Gujarat and its development. May be his admirers had on various occasions articulated such a proposition. Only goes to show the stuff he is made of.It speaks of his caliber as an able administrator, as a dedicated CM, as one who spares no effort and stands out as a non-corrupt and incorruptible person.
The media goes further to analyze who are Modi supporters-who are the fence sitters and who are wary of Modi in the BJP.This kind of uncalled for expose will not be done say in the case of Rahul Gandhi, who is projected as the crown prince. Will the media tell us who his supporters are in the Congress-who are the fence sitters and who are wary of RG? The media has a very crucial role to play in a democracy it must play fair-project the truth and nothing but the truth. It cannot play politics .So what is apparent is that the media is terribly biased against Modi

According to Abhishek Manu Singhvi the SC has not given Modi a clean chit-it has left everything open for the magistrate to look into all aspects. And Salman Kurshid wants us to believe that the BJP is privy to court documents and hence is claiming Modi to be innocent. So one has to believe by these utterances that the SC did not look into the case at all and has simply referred the case to the trial court. The media of course uses this as an opportunity to put Modi on trial. No body thinks that the whole case is sub-judice and hence apart from giving out the SC’s verdict they cannot discuss it thread bare and give their own judgements. The Congress spokespersons in other cases like the CWG scam-the Adharsh scam the 2-G spectrum scam et al excused themselves from commenting because these are sub-judice. But in Modi’s case they are ready to pronounce him guilty as the media runs the trial. The bias is so obvious. What is the reason-just vote bank politics.

It was not long ago that P.Chidambaram appealed to the Sikh community to put the massacre of the Sikhs at rest and to move forward. This when 100 times more persons of the minority community were massacred-brutalized, raped and killed. Time to move on was his appeal. But when it comes to the Gujarat riots it has to be fixed at that riot incident-Time and again it has been used against Modi. Come elections the NGOs canvass with the C Ds of the riots-the wailing and the weeping of the victims and their relatives must be kept ever fresh. Why this double standard? Did the Congress leaders not lead the massacre brigade and supervise the killings of the Sikhs? Did not the Delhi government abet it by silently watching the burning and the killings? Did not Rajiv Gandhi justify this? So what moral right has the Congress to fault Modi and his government,. It must be also noted that this is not the first time Gujarat witnessed riots-not only Gujarat but all over India there have been any number of riots. No one person has been maligned as Modi as been

Vote bank politics has marred every single perception and action of the UPA government. There have been 7 attacks since 2010 after P.Chidambaram became the Home Minister. The Sept 7th bomb blast at gate 5 of the Delhi High court is the 8th attack. This left 13 dead and 88 injured. PC has suddenly become color blind. He who was so obsessed with ‘saffron’ terror suddenly finds just these as terror attacks and is quick also in his briefing to Parliament to caution the country of Naxal terror. No lessons learned. The issue before him is Islamic terror and he is afraid even to term it so. It becomes just terror. And our PM joins in the chorus to mouth hollow words that the perpetrators would be punished. In which terror attack has the perpetrators been punished may be know. So why mouth such promises?

Rahul Gandhi goes to visit the victims of the Sept High court bomb blast at the RML hospital. He has forgotten to think because he had earlier stated after his famous draft reading in Parliament that he took so long to react to the LokPal bill because he had to think. Well one does not know if to read a draft one has to put the thinking cap and take such a long period of thinking. When he visited the hospital he did not utter a single word. Either he forgot to put his thinking cap or there were no draft writers by his side. Can this crown prince not spontaneously offer a few words of comfort and listen to the anguish of the grieving victims. And we are promised that this youth icon will bring in much desired change

This brings up corruption. The Congress advises the rest not to politicize corruption. The same song it sings for every issue ‘Don’t politicize terror attacks’-‘don’t politicize corruption is the litany the Congress leaders chorus. But there is politics in corruption. It is the vested interest of the politicians that gave birth to corruption. It is the greed for power that makes the politicians abet corruption and it is the attraction to status and power that makes the politicians to sell his/her conscience and become corruption. In the process corrupt others too. And as long as the Congress is the mother head of corruption one cannot expect the Congress to fight corruption. It is now blatantly stated in the emails which are circulated that “Mrs Sonia Gandhi the most powerful woman is the most corrupt”. It is not just only one person nay the family too. No wonder it is also said that it took 100 years for Tata to become a billionaire, it took 50 years for Ambani to become a billionaire but it has taken only ten years for Robert Vadra to become a billionaire. From where does this money for chartered planes-treatment in the USA-special facility apartment there et al and lavish spending come from? So it is understandable when one is so filthy rich that Mrs Priyanka Vadra can toss her head and order her two storied house in Himachal Pradesh to be razed to the ground. A new site to be bought and new house to be build. A house in which crores and crores would have been spent is just to be demolished because it did not suit the environment and her fancy. All this after she had been supervising and instructing while the construction was on. Did she not know what materials were used for it? This I narrate only as an example of the arrogance of money power. No second thoughts .We see children by the seaside kick the sand castles and built new ones according to their whims. The same kind of attitude and mindset was displayed by Mrs Vadra which is a dangerous streak and exhibits a disdain for loss of money and labor. The mention of this is also meant to prove that Rahul Gandhi’s multi prong strategy to fight corruption is a farce and mere rhetoric. He has to clean up his own household first.

We had Chidambaram the other day stating that communalizing violence is dangerous. We are no fools and we know what made PC make such a statement. This government will not fight terrorism because it will not embarrass the Muslims. This is clear in it bringing up the Communal violence bill which just will not fight communalism but abets communalism. First the National Advisory Council had no business to draft such a bill. The NAC which is an unconstitutional body acts as a super cabinet and a mini Parliament. This was meant to give a cabinet ranking to Mrs Sonia and legitimize her face in all the GOI advertisements. Second it has also all Modi bashers and baiters as members. It has a hidden agenda and is biased .Hence the communal violence bill is pro minority and anti majority. How can it fight communalism when the very premise of it abets communalism?

Articles have come-I have read two good ones one by Jaithirtha Rao

‘Erring on the side of good sense (IE 29th Aug) the other by Gururmurth’Anna stir a balance sheet’ More will follow I am sure and it is good to put down one’s thinking.

What struck me hard was how the Parliamentarians were quick to safeguard their ‘rights’ and this means their right to bribe and to sully-nay violate the very forum of Parliament. How can they hide behind Art105(2) to go scot free in taking bribes to vote and to speak? They stoutly opposed any move to bring in their actions within Parliament under the Lokpal bill. Similarly whether the Lokpal should have powers to transfer, suspend or even remove officers guilty of wrongdoing so that they do not influence the process of investigation was again opposed by the MPs that it clashed with Art 311 and 320(3)(C)Naturally they were against the removal of ministers because this clashed with Art 75.So what the MPs are holding out is that they must be immune to action against them and for this they hold out the Constitution.

It must be remembered that the Constitution is for the people and for good governance and not the other way round. The people and good governance cannot be sacrifice to uphold a Constitution-change the Constitution-amend it, attune it to the changes and the demands of the time. Surely the Founding Fathers would not have envisaged criminals to become MPs. They would have then put in a clause that such should be taken to the open grounds by the people and shot down. The powers of the MPs flow from the people-the sovereignty of the Parliament is not created in abstract or from a vacuum but from the power of the people. The Parliament must and is obliged to uphold the wishes of the people-to articulate their aspirations and hopes and accordingly function. It is not to uphold the wrong doings of the MPs and a Parliament that does not reflect the wishes of the people has lost its sovereignty. That’s what we witnessed and we will witness people’s power more in the coming days I am sure and hopeful of.

Is it not for the MPs to say that their deeds and misdeeds have a blanket covering and cannot be scrutinize by the people who elected them? It is nonsensical for former Speakers and MPs to talk about the sanctity of Parliament when they have violated that sanctity. When at least 105 criminals are sitting as MPs where is the sanctity of the Parliament. It is also illogical to state that the people who sent them as their representatives have no voice and authority to question their deeds within Parliament. This is defeating the very spirit of democracy. It looked ridiculous how MP after MP stood up to ridicule Anna and to robustly defend their powers and uphold the sanctity of Parliament. We the people are thoroughly ashamed of such MPs-through hood and crook –through money power-their get themselves elected to the Parliament to safeguard their own vested interest and begin the loot. How many of our Parliamentarians would pass a rigorous test of honestly in functioning, honesty in governance and show clean hands? It is a shame on India and they still want to loot the people. Heir time of reckoning has come

But then first let us examine if we really have democracy when the MPs, ministers and the PM were so closely guarding something which we do not have. Hence they blame Anna for undemocratic ways and strategies. Where is democracy and democratic norms. It all started from the day when Mrs Sonia Gandhi made her renunciation democratic norms were throw to the wind.We have a nominated and handpicked Prime Minister. Is that democracy? Constitution was amended for representatives to be nominated in the Rajya Sabha from places where they did not live. Is this democracy? Why was the Rajya Sabha created? So we have a PM with a house rented in Assam and a ration card he holds to prove that he is a resident of Assam. Is this not defeating the spirit of democracy? We have an NAC which advises the PM-which drafts bills and has become a mini parliament presided by Mrs Sonia Gandhi. Who should advise the PM-what is the council of ministers then for?We have for every issue a panel/committee and a commission. What is the task then of the Parliament. ?It is not parliamentary democracy by a panel raj. Who is the head of the government-not the Prime Minister but Mrs Sonia Gandhi who orders and rules from No 10 Janpath road. From the moment she entered into active politics democracy died. She became a super/extra constitutional power and the PM a puppet. Is this democracy? Now people are wailing and weeping that they missed Sonia Gandhi who would have tackled the Anna episode better. I am sure she would not have succeeded- Because she is the root cause of everything.

And that everything is the augmentation of corruption. Corruption on an unprecedented scale at the highest echelons of the government. She looked down on people with begging bowls and talked of food security and wanted strategies on how to throw a few more crumbs into their bowls while the country was looted. There are any number of articles saying that the most powerful woman is the most corrupt and so it is to a nation which sees her as the mother head of corruption and all that is wrong in democracy that her sycophants keep saying that Mrs Sonia Gandhi would have handled the Anna issue better. To get a cabinet position she formed the NAC and became its chairperson. At every step she belittled the authority of the PM. But that Manmohan Singh asked for it is another aspect. Why had he to be her humble subservient handmaid? India was inching slowly but steadily into becoming a banana republic-thanks to Mrs Sonia Gandhi.

So it is comical to fall back on democracy and watch the MPs hurriedly standing up with their wit and hollow words as champions of democracy and the Constitution. The fact remains that persons like Lalu Ptrasad Yadav against who cases are pending on his disproportionate assets naturally will not want a stringent Lok Pal .So these jokers stood up as champions of the Constitution to the mirth of the people who saw their wit and their jokes as nothing but a camouflage of their corruption.

Parliament cannot be forced and hastened to act was the chorus. But then Parliament did hasten things when it wanted. Jaithritha Roa in his article ‘Erring on the side of good sense’, has pinpointed two instances :when in 1985 PM-Rajiv Gandhi signed an accord with Sant Longowal who was not a minister .To bring peace to Punjab Rajiv Gandhi overlooked the approval of Parliament and the Standing committee and his own cabinet. Rajiv Gandhi signed another accord with the All Assam Students Union which represented no government and no political party. So there are precedents established by the Congress. Another glaring unconstitutional and break of tradition was when President Zail Singh swore in Rajiv Gandhi as Prime Minister even when he was not a minister. There was no sanction from the parliamentary party. So if these things could have been done why does the Congress and the Parliamentarians first question who Anna Hazare is and why the civil society pressurizes Parliament and resorts to undemocratic ways? May be Kapil Sibal, P.Chidambaram,Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rahul Gandhi should read up history of our democracy and its unfolding at various periods.

Coming to Rahul Gandhi: somehow the very fact that the Speaker allowed the MP to use the zero hour to read out a draft of three pages does not auger well for upholding parliamentary y norms.Would the Speaker had given such permission to someone else?

So when Rahul Gandhi stood up at the zero hour he already created a feeling of animosity-thanks to the Speaker. But then his long treatise did not go down well because he was silent all these days, because the Gandhi family was silent all these days and is seen as being at the root of all that went wrong with democracy. And to say that one Lokpal is not enough was laughable. To make it similar to the Election Commission is not very encouraging because the EC members are nominated by the political class and look at the case of Naveen Chawla. The same is for all our investigation agencies-they are subservient and used by the ruling class for their own vested interest. So Rahul Gandhi making his sermon did not click. A dirty hand cannot speak of abolishing corruption and will not be seen as a clean wiper. Rahul Gandhi is projected as the youth icon and assess what he has achieved in his 41 years? Everything has been given to him-his position as the General Secretary of the Congress did not come to him because he put in hard work. He has to think long before he speaks and when he speaks he reads a draft. He has the red carpet spread-can walk into the PMO and demand that the NREGP to be expanded-can any other MP do that? So RG is seen as one who is pampered and who has lost touch with the travails of the people. Does he have to bribe anyone to get anything? He has lost touch with the people-nay with India.Mrs Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi has become irrelevant in today’s India . It is time they realized this hard truth.

Finally corruption is all pervading. It is not limited to land and mining as stated by Rahul Gandhi.Land and mining are only the natural rich sources which the political class misuses to throw up corruption. Corruption cuts across caste, class, rich and poor There was an attempt to bring in majority/ minority in the corruption issue I know a number of cases of corruption indulged by the minority-by the learned and the ignorant, by the religious and the irreligious. For each category I can cite instances. But the inability to arrest corruption by the Prime Minister, his silence, his inability to intervene is also corruption. One need not assess the assets but his functioning did abet corruption. So in corruption there is a wide range- of direct players and silent players who by their silence are guilty and this is one reason why the Prime Minister must come under the ambit of the Lok Pal.

The value of honesty seems to have disappeared. Money power and muscle power counts-with these two statuses can be acquired-.Hence there should be a conversion of human minds towards the value of honesty. To give bribe and to take a bribe is equally corrupt. Anna revolution must echo in each and every Indian heart to make a resolution to adhere to the value of honesty no matter how hard, no matter the cost. The Political class then can be tackled!

A former student of mine brought this article to my notice and wanted my reaction. Subsequently I found a number of email friends forwarding the web link. The following is my reflection and response on Dr Swamy’s analysis on how to wiope out Islamic terror

My immediate reaction is that it was brilliant. That the HM-P Chidambaram must be thankful to him and pick up this blueprint and implement these if he really wants to counter terrorism. Instead of creating a mirage of saffron terror and picking on that as an extension of the appeasement policy the GOI is betraying Indians and India’s security. It has defaulted all these years and we have watched this betrayal with hollow promises-we will fight terrorism’ but allowed the Hindus to be led to the slaughter house with their hands tied behind and with absolutely no defensive action .The GOI-has made the Hindus immobile so to say and a soft target with their minority appeasement policy.

Instead of being thankful to Dr Swamy they are raising all sorts of doubts and accusing him of spreading hatred. Where is the hatred in ‘Analysis: How to wipe out Islamic terror”? That Islamic terror is a fact-a reality cannot be denied because it has cost the nation dearly with lives and blood. The recent Mumbai blast on July 13th 2011 after 31 month this terror attack has shaken us to the reality that we have to live and die with Islamic terror-otherwise some soul searching much be done and strategies to defend ourselves must be envisaged and implemented. It is in this context that one would think that P.Chidambaram and the GOI should be grateful to Dr Swamy. Otherwise it is proof that they really are not keen on countering terror but using it against the Hindus and furthering the vote bank by the appeasement policy. It seems to remind us of the tragic situation Hindus are.

The response/reaction of the GOI is not only hollow but hypocritical. The lame duck excuses from a lame duck government are-human error, systems failure, intelligence failure, intelligence gap and finally no intelligence failure because it never picked up the intelligence. Yet we have five Intelligence agencies and with what audacity does the GOI give such excuses for the loss of lives, loss of limbs, pieces of flesh strewn on the roads, streets bathed in blood, families orphaned and untold misery and pain and suffering? Candle lights and flowers to sedate the bruised psyche and the battered bodies?

So Dr Swamy proposes this brilliant defense strategy. Mind you it is defense and not an offence strategy and yet those in the power echelons are trying to spread canards about him and his strategy. They bring in caste-as usual a strategy by which they have divided and ghettoed the nation. The caste of Dr Swamy is not the issue but the issue is terrorism and countering Islamic terror.

P.Chidambaram,Rahul Gandhi,Digvijaya Singh et al are only bothered of ‘Saffron’ terror while more virulent, more blasting more terrifying, more numerically and more real is the Islamic terror not only in the Indian context but also globally. In the Indian context it is abetted or backed by cross terror from Pakistan. This is a well know fact.Yet these Congressmen want to shadow box the ‘saffron’ terror. What is ridiculous is that while the Mumbai blast of July 13th is being investigated PC is cautioning of ‘saffron’ terror’-which according to him is more dangerous. How has he arrived at such a theory? Facts and figures do not prove his theory.

I have nothing more to add to Dr Swamy’s five goals except that I would shuffle the five goals and prioritize them in the following order

Creating of a Hindu mind set-an essential mental attitude as is put- it is a necessary part of a virat(committed) Hindu. This is what will call for the whole Hindu community becoming one .Nothing strange and new because the Catholic Church has this as a belief. It is called the paschal mystery of Christ. Right from the Pope down to the small lay catholic are all united as one body in Christ. Hence if one part is affected the whole body reacts and is affected. This is exactly why the Kandhamal incident made the Pope sit up-it made the European Union pull up the Prime Minister. This kind of evolving as one is not there in the Hindu community. Each seeks salvation through adhering to Sanatana Dharma. So Dr Swamy is not calling for anything that does not exist in other religions but only inserting it in the Hindu context and giving the call to be united and be sensitize because everyone must feel this Oneness and there must be a collective response to anything that affect one/a few Hindus.I would put this as priority one

The rest can follow if this is acquired. His goal 3 must become second because this can be easily achieved. A common civil code is something that has been demanded by women’s groups and for the empowerment of women. .Wonder why the NAC is silent on this instead of adopting all patronizing programmes and making the women more bonded.

Goal number 4 becomes three because the migration policy and the Family Planning are changing drastically the demographic pattern of India.Goal number one becomes goal four and Goal 3 becomes five. Except for the changes in priorities I find the proposal of Dr Swamy not only brilliant but enforceable, achievable and relevant and above all Hindus must start changing the mindset and becoming one. Unless politically too there is a vote bank nothing can be achieved. We are seeing this and politicians understand only this-Why not then form a vote bank on the above mentioned premises?
