The Congress at its old tricks

April 13, 2011 at 5:31 am 20 comments

Rahul Gandhi lives in a fantasy world. He does not have substance and when he utters something it is mostly out of focus and out of reality. When he takes a swipe at the age of V.S.Achuthanandan the CM of Kerala and reminds people that when the next  election comes he will be 92 he forgets that his mother Mrs Sonia Gandhi went to canvass for the young Karunanidhi who will be 92 when the next elections come! Not only his mother-but Manmohan Singh and the whole Congress are batting for MK because of his youthfulness! And it was there for everyone to see how MK has to be wheeled round-still Rahul Gandhi bats for him but takes a swipe at the age of Achuthanandan. What is sauce for gander is also sauce for the goose. Anna Hazare started a movement and here we have a 40 plus Rahul Gandhi zig zag across the country with his foot in the mouth. Why had he not started a movement against corruption with his youth power?

Manmohan Singh says that the UPA is against corruption and wants to weed it out. Yet he was hibernating most of the time and at other times he suffers from amnesia and simply looked on when the country was looted. Starting from the Bofors down to the Common Wealth Games, Cash for votes scam, the Adharsh scam and the 2G spectrum scam the Congress was just blind and pretended that everything was fine. When one after another scams began to tumble down even then we had sweet promises that the law will take its course while the CBI and other investigating agencies were reined in. This is the Congress while talking of Lok Pal goes round the country supporting and canvassing for the corrupt parties and individuals. So where is the guarantee that it will fight corruption? What is the guarantee that it is sincere in the Lok Pal Bill?

It will not be surprising if the UPA takes the credit for bringing in the Lokpal Bill. Already indications are there when Pranab Mukherjee questioned why the BJP led NDA did not bring in the Lokpal Bill At least the BJP did pass it in its cabinet only that the government fell .What did the Congress do all these years and how can it fault the BJP led NDA? At least sitting in the Opposition did the Congress  make a hue and cry for the Lokpal Bill. It did not, because how can one expect the Corrupt Congress to make such a demand. Be it black money and corruption the Congress led UPA has been forced by the people’s movement and a determined Opposition to bring these to the fore. The dirty Hand is being forced; now it is at its old game claiming to be the champions of fighting corruption. Even Manmohan Singh has stooped to a low level and does not bat an eye to lie-when he stated that the UPA wants to fight corruption. The simple fact remains that the UPA’s regime saw the maximum scams and the massive corruption blur and blot the image of India. Now nowhere to run and hide it seeks the very Lokpal Bill to cover itself. Shame on the Congress! The whole world knows how corruption was abetted in its regime and the whole world knows how it took people for a ride and the whole world    knows that its regime will do down in history as the worst corrupt period in the annals of this country

To me the solution is simple-throw the Congress out and the corruption will automatically get thrown out. To keep the Congress in power and to fight corruption is not possible. To think that we have in Rahul Gandhi the next Prime Minister is sheer nonsense. He cannot utter two sentences coherently and he has double standards-has no sense of history and is myopic. Is it his birthright to be the PM? It is this question which must have been nagging Manmohan Singh when he directed the query to Advani. This we call projection. We have another instance: when congress candidates have been denied tickets for the ensuring elections in West Bengal but Pranab Mukherjee’s son has been given a ticket and those denied tickets were rebellious the FM asks: ‘Is it their birthright to be given tickets?’ Is it then the birth right of his son to be given a ticket? This kind of differentiating people the ‘we’ and the ‘they’ are reflections of anti-people and anti-democracy mindset. ‘We’ have the divine right to rule while ‘they’ are condemned to be ruled is the crux of the problem with the Congress and that is why democracy is given the go by and civil society has taken over. Anna’s movement will not die. The nation is watching every move of the Congress and this time will not to be allowed to be cheated and taken for a ride. Neither will the Congress get the credit for fighting against corruption and /or going at the black money stashed in tax havens for in both these fronts it has failed the nation miserably

Democracy has been misused and abused The Constitution has been raped for the last 64 years so let not people now with vested interest talk about democracy. Starting a movement is legitimate and is within the parameters of democracy. But in the name of democracy using Parliament to loot the people-accruing power and financial clout-violating the constitution and all that it holds on Equality is no great operation of democracy. Parliament had lost its sanctity when bags of money were poured before the Speaker-when Buta Singh used the sacred precincts to buy one vote with a suitcase of money-when criminals sit as elected representatives of the people where is the sanctity of Parliament? Votes are bought with people’s money, used for freebies this is no election and elected parliamentarians. They have bartered democracy and sold it for thirty pieces of silver. The betrayal of democracy by the Congress is total and complete. Now simply because the going seem to be tough with awareness seeping into society we find the Congress and others becoming champions of democracy. Democracy cannot have a prince in waiting to be crowned-Democracy has no divine right for anyone family least of all the Gandhis-to even talk of such things is like tolling the death knell of democracy

It is time we stop writing “EVEN Manmohan Singh has stooped to a low level” as if this is the first time he has done so.It starred as early as 2006,when he came to Chennai after the Congress decided to ally with DMK.He christened Kalaignar as the Architect of Modern India.Had Jawaharlal Nehru been buried instead of cremated,he would have turned in his grave. At that time itself, the economics Professor proved he was either a poor history student or a liar and a sycophant. The sycophancy trait he has been carrying on for the last 5 years successfully and lying has become his habit. Last week, while addressing an electoral meeting in Tamil Nadu, he said Tamil Nadu has made great strides under Kalaignar !!!..He has no compunction in blaming his subordinates for all his acts of commission and omission. He had the cheek to say he was not informed of Mr Thomas’s past.,but when this was brought to his notice by the Leader of the Opposition,he just closed his ears and later tendered apology( how sincere ,it is anybody’s guess.)What is amazing is ,how easily he got away with it.
People are saying the country’s image has been totally brought down. The image started sliding from the day Sonia Gandhi was chosen to lead the country, broadcasting to the world,THIS GREAT COUNTRY of 40 crores,DID NOT POSSESS A SINGLE INDIVIDUAL WHO COULD LEAD THE COUNTRY..IF THE SCOUNDRALS AND MANIPULATORS AND SYCOPHANTS IN THE CONGRESS COULD CONFESS THEY DID NOT HAVE THE MATERIAL,THEY COULD HAVE ASKED Dr ABDUL KALAM to take the reins, just as Nehru picked on Dr Radhakrishnan. To add insult to injury, the Supremo appointed a nonentity to adorn the chair vacated by one of the illutrious sons of India.
When we look for a bride or a groom in the family,we make umpteen enquiries about the background of the bride or groom in all respcts, like family history, standing in the society, financial and educational qualifications etc., before deciding on the choice. If this is the care and concern we take in our family, what did we do when the entire country was handed over in a platter to someone, about whom none of us knew anything. What was her name(even this we did not know),what was her parentage, where did she come from, what wa her educational qualification,in other words,India knew her only as Rajiv Gandhi’s wife. What is this but our callous indifference to the image and welfare of the country .
Kudos to her for choosing the best puppets to assist her in running her Empire. GOD SAVE THE COUNTRY FROM THE THIRUMOORTHYs

I agree with you.In fact it is wrong to say that ‘even MMSingh stooped so low.He was already at a low. This man has not stood for a single election-was nominated to the Rajya Sabha and handpicked by Mrs Sonia to be the PM.Where is democracy. He knows all that was underway in 2G spectrum-yet he kept his eyes closed. He promises Anna Hazare the drafting of the LokPal Bill and in a few days leaves for Chennai to praise MK and to ally with the most corrupt politician.Does this indicate that this GOI will fight corruption and will bring back the black money stashed in tax havens? He pretends to be a great economis but under him the spiraling prices he is not able to check. He keeps the gaddi warm till the Prince in waiting decides to sit on it.Shameless for this man to say that Rahul Gandhi is most qualified to become the PM.What is RG’s qualification? And he swipe’s at Advani that he thinks he has the divine right to rule? The man is really confused. He who thinks that RG has the divine right to rule projects that on Advani. Is something basically wrong with him?
      All the best to you.

The movement spearheaded by Anna Hazare and the comments made by Rahul Gandhi prove/disprove two things about leadership.

One is this highly trumpeted theory that youth can lead (not that Rahul Gandhi is a youth!) Under circumstances where one has to rally the entire populace to support a movement, the older generation comes out on top. The fact that they have been around much longer and have experienced several ups and downs–unless they are particularly blind to the surroundings– gives them a better perspective of social and political affairs. The youth may be instrumental in garnering support, but it needs the courage of conviction and clarity of thought that comes with experience and age to lead.

The other myth is that Rahul Gandhi has charismatic looks and is therefore a born leader. Well, the people preferred Anna Hazare’s cheerful countenance to the ‘good looks’, didn’t they? It is sickening to see all the Congress chamchas bristling with indignation at Achutanandan’s statement–there is a limit to sycophancy. Achutanandan is more than twice the age of Rahul Gandhi so why can’t his comparison be taken in the right spirit? Gandhi Jr has already been called “yuvaraj’ by Mayawati and “Babua’ by some leaders from UP. All we can say is that with every new name he seems to be getting younger—the curious case of Rahul Gandhi!

      Thank you Vinta,
Rahul Gandhi thinks that only age matters. He was not even seen at Jantar Mantar. He goes around talking of everything else which is of no consequence except corruption. The theory he holds is that the Congress brought the RTI and hence it has revealed so many scams! He forgets the tireless war waged by Subramaniam Swami-the persistent attempts made by the Opposition in raising the issue of the blackmoney-all this is nothing. Now he along with the Congress will take credit for the Lok Pal bill and boast that it only the Congress that had stood firm against corruption. It does not matter that under the regime of the Congress and right under the nose of Manmohan Singh so many scams erupted. But soon the scams will be forgotten and the achievement of the Congress will be the enactment of the Lok Pal bill.
The less one talks of RG the better better he seems to have lost his moorings. He is 41 and what has he to his credit?
Thank you Vinta for your response. It helps to hear different views.

The Congress had some unbeleivable good luck in inheriting some of the best schemes started by the NDA- the golden quadrilateral scheme for roads and the sarva shiksha abhiyaan. They also came to rule when the country was in an upswing as far as growth was concerned. They just cruised along on this tide during UPA-1. Now the abject non-governance and terrible mis-governance (if there are such words in the dictionary) are plain for all to see. Sometimes one wonders at the hubris of their politicians and spokespersons who always claim that the Congress is the be-all and end-all of Indian leadership.

I agree. And folks are starting to spout the TINA factor…no other alternative to Congress? We, as a nation, MUST hang our collective head if we cannot come up with an alternative to the miserable Congress+allies. Baba Ramdev is starting his agitation in June for withdrawal of high denomination notes…please, all of you, come out and support him…he is showing the way and he is also with Anna Hazare…the sensible and sensitive older generation is leading…they are our role models and we MUST collectively throw out the rotten Congress+allies+corrupt politicians.

You are right the sensible old heads are leading. They seem to have stuff having lived -wise from that. They do not have girl friends to run around with-no hideouts to sneak to and hence they are more focused. After all the best lessons we learn is from LIFE.Rahul Gandhi is unaware that all youth do not have an accumulation of wealth-they need to sweat it out to earn a livelihood. They need to take care of their families.Where as RG’s case the Indians-aam amis money is spend on them-housing-electricity,water all taxes are paid by those who do not have electricity, water.Even Priyanka and her neo tycoon lived in government allotted bungalow-in the name of security. Can’t they afford to employ security.Youth power under Rahul Gandhi is hollow. He has nothing else to boast of -can only say that he is 41.High denomination currency will not be banned because then what will those corrupt politcians do with they sack full of such currency?Remember Sukh Ram they raided his house and found sackful of currency. But Singh gave a suitcase of currecy for one vote to save the PVN’s government,.The story goes on and Rahul Gandhi zi zags across the country trying to find out which India he he Amul baby.belongs to! It is good that Amul has come out with its advertisement that ‘both are Amul babies’Hope RG will not take offence at the Amul for clubbing up 41 WITH 87 year old.He should be proud because the 87 has stuff-but the 41 except for his dimples has none…..

    Dear HR
Thank you for your prompt reply.
Mam, the fact that you are taking so much effort and pain to write about these issues, clearly shows that you have an inclination to add your own value towards the fight against a clean india. As you know, with the invent of social networking, it is so easy to spread a good or even a bad message. I have lot of my friends, who were other wise busy with their blogging, now shifted to FB for more ‘audience’. Infact, you can have both. My sincere request will be to add a ‘FB share’ button on your blog site, so that like minded people can atleast share your superior notes in FB and also it will be really a service you will be doing, if you can connect to FB. I think, considered to the ‘mail management issues’ which you are facing because of the blogs/etc…FB is a lesser pain mechanism. I am sure you will enjoy it once you start engaging with that.
Kindly let me know your views. Parallely, i am checking with one of my blog friend on how to create this ‘FB share’ button on your blog and will write back to you the moment i have an information on the same.

    Thanks & regards,
    Santhosh Kottayi

thankyouSanthosh.I am really touched at your concern and the public spirit of spreading the information.Yes in my own way I am trying to fight corruption. But then corruption is not a concept.and by itself cannot hlarm unless it is operated by corrupt people. It then becomes strategies-vile means, swindling, looting et al.So It is the people who are corrupt.Any thing and everything can become corrupt through corrupt persons. So why are we going round beating the bush. Why not straight away fight the corrupt people.Name them and poin tout at their activities which abets corruption or are corrupt in itself.
The first person which comes to my mind here is the PM.He cannot be excused by stating that he was out of the loop.He jolly well be within the loop-thats his business. He cannot get away by stating in Parliament that it was an error in judgement. Then he must face the consequences of having made that error.
Next person is Mrs Sonia Gandhi-want power but does not want to face the responsibility,.Right from Giovernors down to the MPs it is all her appointment. But shaking them off and distancing herself when these are caught in corruption she cannot escaope the responsinility neither the abettment of corruption.Be these Kalmadi, Iqbal Singh-Governor of Puducherry,A.Raja all are her men.She has promoted corruption through them.Hence stands indicted.
It is not enough to hold candlelights and proclaim that we are fighting corruption. We are fighting people who are corrupt.
Yes I shall try my best to come on the FB-let me see how you can help.By the way you must be from the South?I am bowled over by your genuine concern.Thank you.
      All the best to you.
